Online Therapy
for Life Transitions

Even changes we expect or choose can shake us.

A move to a new city or a new country. A career change, retirement, or return to school. Becoming a parent — or watching children leave home. The end of a relationship, a health diagnosis, a shift in faith or identity. Transitions ask us to let go of a version of life, and of ourselves, before the next version has fully arrived. It's completely natural for that in-between to bring anxiety, grief, self-doubt, or a disorienting question: who am I now?

You don't need something to be "wrong" to benefit from support during a transition. Sometimes the wisest thing is to not navigate it alone.

We provide online counselling for adults (17+) across Ontario navigating relocation, immigration, and cultural adjustment; career changes, job loss, and retirement; new parenthood and changing family roles; separation, divorce, and relationship endings; health changes and aging; and shifts in identity, values, or faith.

For clients adjusting to life in Canada, therapy is also available in Hindi, and Gujarati through our therapist, Hiral Shah.

How Counselling can Help During Transitions

Transitions hold two tasks at once: grieving what's ending and building what's beginning. In therapy, we make room for both.

We'll help you honour the losses inside the change (even happy changes contain them), reconnect with your values and inner wisdom so decisions come from your Wisest Self rather than from fear, and develop the skills and boundaries your new chapter requires. Our mind-body-spirit approach — always adjusted to respect your beliefs — is especially suited to these threshold moments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Know if I Might Benefit from Therapy when Going through Life Transitions?

Some signals your mind and body might be giving you that you are exhausting your capacity to cope with changes on your own might be:

  • difficulty concentrating or problem solving

  • forgetting things

  • feeling emotionally overwhelmed and possibly irritable, or more tearful than usual

  • feeling physically exhausted, drained, and having low energy

  • experiencing conflicted emotions:  sadness, grief, relief, excitement, fear...

I've recently immigrated to Canada and I'm struggling to adjust. Is that something you work with?

Very much so. Cultural adjustment and immigration stress are among our clinic's focus areas.  The losses and pressures of migration are real, and they deserve support that understands them.

How many sessions will I need?

Transition-focused work is often shorter-term — a matter of months — though it sometimes opens into deeper work if you choose. Sessions are typically weekly or bi-weekly, and pacing is always collaborative.

Is counselling for life transitions covered by insurance in Ontario?

Many extended health plans cover Registered Psychotherapist (RP) services; OHIP does not. We provide receipts after every session, and a limited number of sliding-scale spots are available.
