Training Overview:

This workshop is for therapists who are new to trauma processing or would like a more contained approach that allows clients to do “a piece of trauma work” in a short-term setting.  This intervention is also helpful in situations where it is important that the client not be triggered/experience significant emotional dysregulation between sessions.

The metaphor of the “valley of the shadow of death” is used to understand trauma and the stages of healing.  This is a comprehensive training in that we will go through all the stages of trauma work, including introducing practical tools and interventions for each phase:

  • Therapist preparation - including self-care to protect oneself while doing this work.

  • Client education, stabilization, and safety - including assessing and dealing with crises.

  • Trauma processing – using a compassion-focused parts work approach that is effective in shifting trauma-related negative core beliefs and the physiological, emotional, cognitive and spiritual reactions that accompany them.

  • Learning how to live with the scars, as clients reclaim themselves and their lives – and learn how to move past survival into living.

 Cost:

 $229.00 CAD

$149.00 CAD (for graduate students in psychotherapy-related  programs)

 Payable by e-transfer to: traumaandbeyond@gmail.com
